Please read before ordering! By commissioning me [Maika Coffee], you will be agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. Please note that I have the right to refuse any project for any reason.

By submitting your order you're agreeing to the entirety of the buyer agreement. Maika Coffee does not accept refunds for completed pieces, there can be some minor adjustments to your order on request until Maika Coffee deems the order to be completed. The artist reserves the right to refuse an order and deny payment on the grounds that it is deemed offensive, inappropriate or just outside of Maika Coffee's skill set. To save time, Maika Coffee will not paint anything sexual (including some PDA sorry), graphically violent, political or anything slanderous. Commissions may be posted on the artist's public galleries/portfolios and painting process may be posted on Youtube. Private commissions are available on request. The client is free to share/post the commission, though may not claim the work as their own/resell the piece/use the piece commercially.

I can also bring in a person from another photo! For example, the original photo you have is just you but maybe you hoped to have a loved one next to you. Just send me a decent photo of that person as well and I will do my best!

Portrait of you in my style, based on a photo or picture you send me.
I will be following the pose and facial expressions that I see. Can be a video game character or an anime character, but I must have a decent photo to use for posing and lighting, otherwise if I have to make up too much or if you're asking me to make up too much, then this could fall under the Frappe order.

Latte: $60: Espresso swimming in your choice of milk, flavor and foam!
Portrait of you as your favorite anime character! Still in my style and based on a photo or picture you send me, but mixed with your favorite anime or video game character!
Like cosplaying, but without having to purchase the makeup, outfit and wig!

Frappe: $80: Choose and blend together any ingredients you want with your coffee!
Custom Portrait of your person/character in my style!
This can be a video game character, an anime character or an original character.
This is NOT re-drawn/painted from a photo! But posed, out-fitted and with an expression and angle you want. You can provide reference material so I can get closer to what you're imagining. If you don't really care about the details then I can make it up for you, but please be aware that there will be a limit to requested changes.

But this can be a nice family gift even for those who don't have old photos and just want a regular painting of their photo :)

Cup o' Coffee: $60: Sometimes all you need is just a simple cup o' coffee...
Portrait NOT stylized, but closer to original photo.
I have had the privilege of attempting to re-paint old photos because they are damaged or ruined and can hopefully be salvaged through re-painting it. I try to paint as close to the original as possible and can even apply color if you like.
But before taking this project on, I will need to see if I can possibly work with what you give me. If the photo is too far beyond my salvaging or you are not able to give me enough reference materials, I may have to decline the project. Otherwise I could end up painting someone you don't even recognize!

Affogato: $30: Coming Soon!

Sugar: $15: This is a background that is not blank or solid color. Keep in mind these will be out of focus, not crisp, as doing so would take away from the portrait anyway.

Espresso Shots: $10 each: Jewelry pieces will cost $10 a piece. A pair of earrings will count as one.

​Process and Other Details:
​
1.) Unless you request it, nothing physical will be mailed to you!
Just a High Quality digital file that you can print at home or at your local print shop.
If you really wish for me to send a physical copy, it will have to be through my online print shop and it will cost extra (whatever my store charges). Will have to discuss further details in an email if you really want to do this. But to help you get an idea of what my online shop offers, you can check out these links below:
2.) If commissioning me through email, I must receive payment first before starting. I know that might seem crazy, but I've had people not pay me for work done or put me in a position where I could end up not getting paid.
After agreeing to my Commission Services that I will send to you in an email, I will then send you my Paypal link for payment. Once payment is received I will start on your Portrait. Sorry but I can't do refunds!
3.) The size of the Portrait will probably be 16x20 inches at 300dpi PNG & JPEG file. You can request this in a different size if you like.
(PNG is a lossless file so holds a lot of detail but may not be suitable for your printing services, so I also send a high quality JPEG just in case.)
4.) Please do NOT send a blurry photo! Unless it is for the Cup o' Coffee option and we're hoping to salvage an old photo.
5.) Please keep in mind that every monitor varies in the way they display colors, so the colors that you see on your screen may be slightly different from the actual print.
-Also the type of paper and your printer brand can affect the final output of your prints.
-You may print as many as you need, and give as a gift, but the Digital Files may not be shared or used as a give-away, such as a blog or business promotions.
-You may not manipulate or alter the Digital Files, other than to enlarge or reduce size.
6.) Unless you specifically request me NOT to, I may be posting your portrait I made for you on my social media galleries.
7.) Also, I cannot do animals at the moment! Just humans or human-ish, like elves or cat people :D!

Other Questions:

What is the process?
1.) I will be sending you updates in about 3 to 4 stages. I will allow about 3 to 4 changes for the first two stages. But only 1 to 2 for the last two stages.
-Sketch: The first stage I will update you on is the sketch. This is where I make some adjustments to the portrait so it's in my style and it will be my map going forward in the painting process. Please make sure you're okay with the dimension size (15x15 inches) at this point, otherwise it may be difficult to change later.
-Color: The next stage will be color. I will show you the base colors I will be using. I will try to get close to the original colors, but please be AWARE, that the coloring tends to change once I start adding lighting and shadowing! So the base colors are not exactly accurate and will change a bit. Again please keep in mind of different monitors can show a slight change in color as well. But at this point any big changes you want should be done by this time!
-Overall Final Look: The third stage will be the painting in it's final stages. I may send an extra update to make sure you're liking it before really finalizing it. At this stage I can not make any big major changes, just minor ones. I can make some slight change to coloring if it's still not exactly right.
-Extra details: I like to add a little extra highlight and effects to bring out the painting and make it unique. But since these are add-ons, you may choose if you would like it or not.
-For backgrounds, I usually choose white or a another plain color. I can also fade the painting into the background If you like at no extra cost. However, as mentioned earlier, I do not do detailed crisp backgrounds. If wanting a background please expect it to be a bit out of focus.

How long will it take?
1.) There could be a queue, once you email me if you're interested, I'll let you know how long you'll need to wait until I start on yours. Please do not try to send payment until I have confirmed that I can start on your project and you are given the details as to when that may be!
2.) Once I am able to start on your order, it can take up to 2 weeks. I will endeavor to get it done within a week, but due to health issues I can not make that promise, since it is possible for me to be in pain for a whole day and that obviously can delay things.
3.) If it is more than two people or more, expect to add an extra week for each person.
4.) Of course time frame can also change depending on how many add-ons you want for your painting.
5.) Also your response to updates and any extra changes you request.
